LEARNING REFLECTION PHASE 1

Subject technology and education were the first subjects we learned on our first day of this course. So, I was quite excited and nervous. Before I went to this class, my first impression of the subject was that we were going to learn about the technology that we would use in education. Now in the digital era, being tech-savvy was an essential skill. After a few weeks of learning about this subject, I was to introduce the theory, practice, and development of technology and innovation in the field of education. I have come to realize the difference between invention and innovation. An invention is more about the action of inventing something, typically a process or device, while innovation is more about a new method, idea, or product.

Dr. Nur uses menti.com as a platform for us to write our answers or opinions in our first class. That was my first encounter with the platform. We also learned how to use Google Sites to create a website. Dr. Nurain showed us how to use a website to store all of our technical materials. It is well-organized and simple to use. We also learned how to design our website using Canva. From there, I realized there are many ways to make our teaching process easier. From my point of view, embracing innovation in education promotes critical thinking, a sense of adventure, and an openness to adapt that will serve our students in the classroom. I believe education also needs to change to adapt to changing times and the thinking of the new generation. I also learned that the national education system applies 21st Century Learning (PAK21) to ensure that students do not fall behind in the rapidly developing world.

We can also introduce more technology that students will need to be comfortable with over time. So, as future teachers, we need to be the most adaptable to change. I believe this class will help more to integrate technology into our lessons more. So, by the end of the semester, I will have gained a great deal of knowledge and discovered new technologies.
